The Woodlands, TX—This past Saturday crowds of children and adults alike came to Market Street in The Woodlands to meet Thumbelina, The World’s Smallest Horse, during her stop on the 2007 Thumbelina Children’s Charity Tour. The little horse’s appearance on Saturday benefitted The Montgomery County Women’s Center.

Crowds gathered around 8 a.m. to meet the animal who is quickly becoming a worldwide sensation appearing on appearing on shows such as The Today Show, Regis and Kelly, Fox and Friends, Good Morning America and many more.

At a height of only 17.5 inches tall and weighing 57 pounds, Thumbelina has been officially recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the World s Smallest Horse.

While she was in the Houston area the tiny horse visited children at the Houston Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and the Montgomery County Women’s Shelter.

“It’s just so amazing to witness the joy that Thumbelina brings to children,” Handler, Michael Goessling, said Saturday.

Thumbelina’s owners, Paul and Kay Goessling, raise miniature horses at Goose Creek Farms near St. Louis, Mo. Thumbelina is a miniature horse, which is also known as a “mini.” She is especially tiny because she is also a dwarf. That makes her a “mini mini.”

In 2007 The Goessling Family began the Thumbelina Charitable Foundation. The Foundation is devoted to channeling the world’s affection for Thumbelina toward worthy children’s charities and the missions for which they strive.

By November of 2007 the Thumbelina Children’s Tour will make stops in all 48 continental states to brighten the day of children and staff at over 100 hospitals, special camps and schools, group children's homes , shelters as well as the children and families of American soldiers.

Every day, thousands of people fall in love with Thumbelina and every day she gets one step closer to fulfilling her mission to raise $1 million for children’s charities on her tour.
